What about Peace? This week we all will be celebrating Christmas. It starts earlier every year it seems like. Christmas decorations go up even before Halloween decorations in some places. Everyone rushes to celebrate Christmas. But, the seriousness of the season often is lost in the frivolity. Why do we celebrate Christmas? We celebrate December 25 to give honor to the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We celebrate the day to remember the principles he stood for. And we celebrate the season to share our friendship with other like minded individuals. However, we celebrate the birth of Christ for more than the obvious reasons. The obvious reasons are His advice which helps to guide our lives and relationships, His mandate to share the Christian faith, and the sacrifice Christ made by shedding his blood for our sins. But, to really grasp the meaning of Christmas and our purpose of celebrating this holiday, we must understand what Christ stood for. We should celebrate not only his birth, but the holy mission that required his birth. Every Christmas season centers around the theme of Peace. We read about peace efforts in the newspapers. We read heartwarming stories of peace in magazines. Stirring movies about peace and Christmas fill the airways. Christians gather in the churches to hear their preachers speak of peace. Countries are bombed in the name of peace and the Republicans and Democrats fight over which party are the true peace makers. Lets not forget, however, by celebrating Christmas and what Christ stood for, we should remember, what he had to say about this subject. Christ said, In Matthew 10 :34: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth, I come not to send peace, but a sword." Christ is referred to as the Prince of Peace so often that we forget what he actually said about it. Our reward shall be peace, but as any general of an army, he wants us to fight for it. Christ will bring peace to the Christians, but to those of the world he brings a sword. Christ had a mission on Earth. The Gospel, or news, that He carried and asked us to spread, was the news of His future Earthly Kingdom. Through His kingdom and as citizens of His kingdom, or government, our reward will be peace. America has been known throughout the world as an undefeated nation of peace. Why? Because, America was founded for the absolute purpose of extolling Christianity. Yet, as much as America has enjoyed peace, we can't even begin to comprehend the peace that will accompany a government ruled by Christ. What will it take to usher in Christ's earthly kingdom? Our people in mass must repent for disobeying his laws. Our people must feel a sense of renewed compassion for their white brothers and sisters. And finally we must throw off the enemies of God. How can we have peace now? You may ask. We can never lose the feelings of sorrow for our nations troubles, but we can have an internal peace that comes by doing God's work. People everywhere are under different circumstances. Everyone has different types of families, incomes and education levels. Some may be around many people and some live quiet lives alone. What we can have, despite our circumstances, whether ideal or not, is have an internal peace by knowing we are doing well by God. By working toward the kingdom we can have peace. By helping our nation come to grip with her sinful actions, we can have peace. By bringing a message of hope and revival to our brothers and sisters, we can have peace. By knowing that no effort or deed goes unnoticed by Christ, we can have peace. By knowing that we really do matter, we can have peace. By never forgetting that we can make a difference and definitely by never giving up, we can have peace. Christmas is really about giving. Just as Christ gave himself on the cross. Our Klan motto is Non Silba Sed Anthar meaning - not for self but others. This is why we should be celebrating Christmas. We want to bring peace to our racial family, to give of ourselves, to do as Christ did, and to bring a message of his kingdom to our brothers and sisters around the world. During this holiday season as we celebrate we must remember the mission of his birth - of overcoming those who stand against him and leading his followers to a lasting peace on Earth. As an act of remembrance on Christmas morning we must do more than open gifts, visit with family and friends, or enjoy the merriment. We must renew our fight for a Christian government. We must renew our pledge to the unconquerable power of Christ. And we must renew our commitment to spread the gospel of Christ and his Kingship over our nation and people. Because, through the Gospel of Christ, the defeat of His enemies, and His authority over America, our people will live in peace forever.
